Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is a condition in which the prostate gland becomes enlarged and may cause problems associated with urination. Treatment for BPH may include surgery to remove only the enlarged tissue that is pressing against the urethra, with the rest of the inside tissue and the outside capsule left intact. Types of surgery often include Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP), Transurethral Incision of the Prostate (TUIP), or Laser Surgery.

UHS Surgical Services offers the following lasers for rental on a per case basis for treatment of BPH.


Nonsurgical treatment of BPH may include, Balloon Urethroplasty, Prostatic Stents, or Transurethral Microwave Thermotherapy (TUMT). UHS Surgical Services offers Prostalund's Coretherm and Thermatrx 3000 as TUMT treatment.
